I’m really excited about the opportunity to compete tomorrow and happy with my current position. On a lake like Okeechobee that has the potential to produce 30-lb plus sacks, anything is possible. I’m ready to go and see what I can haul in.
I feel really good about sitting in 3rd place, 24-lb 4-0z after day 1. I’m hoping for another solid day tomorrow with my eye on the target – day 2 top-12 cut.

After Thanksgiving I packed up the truck and headed to Okeechobee FL to compete in the BASS Wildcard event. I’m totally stoked about it! With a field of only 49 and Classic berth on the line, I’m ready to get at it and haul in some Okeechobee lunkers .
I finally made my way back to Southern Illinois for some much needed time in a tree stand. With cold weather rolling in the deer are really active. I’m hoping for a great hunt this week. Checkout my Facebook page for pictures.
Deb and I are heading to Big Cedar Lodge this weekend to spend a few days with Jasper Engines & Transmissions Catch 13 contest winners. The smallies are on, so the fishing will be phenomenal – looking forward to stretching out my new Phoenix and having an awesome weekend.
Really happy with how my rig turned out this year – whole new look for the 2014 Elites. Spending time rigging my electronics and getting everything organized. I will post pictures soon, so check back.
I’m chewing up road miles this week visiting sponsors, picking up my new boat at the Phoenix Factory and working with Sign Design to finalize my rigs new vinyl skin. I’m hoping to have a few hours this weekend to set a couple deer stands. I’m ready to hunt!
After a disappointing finish at the Arkansas River, it sure was great getting word that I qualified for the 2014 Bassmaster Elites. Competition is extremely fierce and qualifying on one of the hardest circuits is definitely a confidence booster.
As the last even of the season I certainly went out with a bang, just not the bang I was hoping for. On the bright side, I learned so much about fishing this river system during this tournament. I’m always amazed about how much there is left to learn about fishing. I definitely keeps things …
